How to become a mechanical engineering student?
- Aptitude test:
The admission of the study course Mechanical Engineering is restricted. The admission criteria can be found at the appliance homepage of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. If you have to take part in an interview, the assessment of the interview is essential aside the grades of your university-entrance diploma for being accepted in the course.
The interviews take place from June to August.
- After the interview:
The impression of the interview, your university-entrance diploma and your maths- and physics-grades determine whether you can enroll or not.
Normally, you receive the non-binding feedback directly after the interview if you are accepted or not. Afterwards, it takes about three weeks until you get an official mail from our MechCenter with further documents (Admission, university ID-card,...).
Beside this, you can download our welcome letter, in which you will find more information about your first week.
Closing date for application is the 15th July, 2017.
The process is organized via the website of the university for prospective students. You can find all information on required documents, forms etc. that need to be handed in. Application will be possible from mid of June.
During the application procedure you have to choose "Bachelor" for graduation and "Maschinenbau - Mechanical and Process Engineering" as subject of study, without any major subjects!
You can only enroll to our Master’s program after you successfully achieved your bachelor graduation.
The TU Darmstadt no longer offers the Diploma Course Mechanical Engineering.
