You have the choice!

University elections will be held in the 2022 summer semester from May 31 to June 9, 2022, as online elections will take place. On the next few pages is an alphabetical listing of candidates for this year's elections. Also explained to you in a few short sentences is what your candidates can accomplish.

Student Council Elections

This is an individual candidate election. Student Representatives are elected for the Department Council (FBR) and Student Council (FSR). The Department Council forms the highest committee in mechanical engineering, for example, it decides on appointments and admission procedures. It consists of 11 Professors, 3 research associates (WiMis), 2 administrative-technical assistants (ATMs), the gender equality representative and 5 students. The dean, Prof. Oechsner, chairs the FBR and completes the ranks of the professors with the vice dean.

Up to 9 students can be elected to the FSR. In this committee the problems of the students (i.e. you) are discussed. The FSR also organizes the orientation week.

List of Abbreviations

AK – Commission

FBR – Department Council

FSK – Student Council Conference

FSR – Student Council

LZMB – Mechanical Engineering Study Hall

MSK – Math refresher course

OE – Orientation Week

QSL – Teaching Quality Supervision

StAu – Committee for Academic Affairs

Elections at the university level

Here, only lists are elected, even if individual names should appear on the ballot. On the one hand, there is the student parliament (StuPa), which elects and oversees the AStA. The StuPa also sends representatives to the student union. It consists of 31 students from different lists. Since the AStA is the executive voice of the students, the StuPa can be called the highest student committee. In addition, there is the University Assembly (UV), the highest university-wide committee. The UV is composed of 31 professors, 15 students, 10 WiMi's and 5 ATM's. The UV can elect and dismiss the university board, change the basic regulations of the TU, elect members of the senate, receives the accountability report of the university board and can dismiss it if necessary.
