All useful information about enrollment, administrative issues and the orientation- and initiationweek (German: Orientierungs- und Einführungswoche, OE) are summarized here.
The OE, your first week of studies, is organized by the students council of mechanical engineering and you can always feel free to contact us with your questions! During the OE you'll learn everything you need to know about university, how to study successfully and you will get in touch with your peers.
What is the students council of mechanical Engineering?
We are the representational body of all students of the mechanical engineering department at the TU Darmstadt. You will learn more about us during the OE and you can look around at our website.
Up until the start of the winter semester 2023/2024 on October 16th 2023 the information here will be constantly updated and upgraded so please check back regularly!

How to become a mechanical Engineering student:

The application deadline is August 31th, 2023.

During the application process you have to choose the degree Bachelor and the subjects Mechnical Engineering – Sustainable Engineering or Bio-Materials Engineering and no specialization!
You can only enroll in the Master's program if you have a Bachelor's degree.

Once all these barriers have been overcome your studies will begin in the first week of lectures on October 16th, 2023.
During the first week of lectures, the orientation and introduction week (OE) will take place, during which you will be provided with all the important information you need to start your studies.
Additionally, there is the central first semester welcome in our Audimax (S1|01 - A1) on 11.10.2023 starting at 17:00.

We will provide you with the timetable for this first week in time on top of this page.
It starts with a welcome of a representative of the university management and of professors from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as well as by the MechCenter and the students council.
Afterwards you will be divided into small groups. In your group, two students from a higher semester year will give you a lot of important information about your further studies, such as the timetable, examination modalities, information about Darmstadt, housing, references on books, scripts, etc. You will also meet many fellow students. Experience has shown that many of these acquaintances remain with you throughout your studies as study groups, friendships and contacts.
